Are public records pertaining to Bankruptcy laws permanent?

I already know that the credit companies no longer report about it after 10 years but I wanted to know about the public records made by the court of law.

After 10 years, can credit card companies (or who else, do you know?) access the public records and not the credit report.

Also I heard that things like social security numbers attached to bankruptcy cases are made public in the public record is this true?

NO FUNNY COMMENTS ABOUT FINANCIAL MISHANDLING - I have had a string of bad luck (illness, taking care of family) and been therefore unable to handle it all.

Any helpful responses are appreciated. Are public records pertaining to Bankruptcy laws permanent?
I think anyone can access the information.

I know your potential employers can. I think credit businesses trying to solicit you as a customer can.Are public records pertaining to Bankruptcy laws permanent?
As far as I know they are permanent.

I filed back in 2001 and went to the Pacer website and looked up my records and they were still there a couple of months ago. I would think that the written records would stay at the courthouse until they were so old they got filed away in some warehouse.

As far as the Social Security numbers, they are listed in my BK records along with my ex-wife's.
