i need a website where i can look at public records of a person without it costing anything...i thought the records were open to the public but every web site wants money...Criminal records and public records arent the supposed to be free?
Even if you went to the source of the public information, they would probably charge you for copying the information.
So these web sites have done the legwork for you and paid the price to get the information. Isn't it reasonable for them to charge?
They're supposed to be available, but nowhere does it say they have to be free. Supplying the records cost taxpayer money which is reasonable to be reimbursed by those seeking the records. Now, if they want $20 a page, that's abusive.Criminal records and public records arent the supposed to be free?
go do your research at the court house
noone said it had to be easy to get to or that it had to be online. You may have to do some digging.Criminal records and public records arent the supposed to be free?
you can go to the criminal records clerk and look at them for free. If you want a copy im sure they will charge you. It's the government you know.
