Where can I find public records about a police officer from Florida?

My cousin was a police officer in St. Petersburg, FL in the 80's, and I need to find out more about him and what he did.Where can I find public records about a police officer from Florida?
HUM...

As part of the coverup, Internal Affairs refuses to voluntarily release information about grievances, etc., about any cops.

BUT,

If you are willing and have the time, you can take it to FOIA (The Freedom of Information Act). Visit their website, where you follow their procedure and may end up in court reviewing the data on grievances that may include your guy.

They outline an entire procedure including template letters, deadlines to reply, etc. Good luck.Where can I find public records about a police officer from Florida?
I don't think you are going to have much luck finding that information let alone somebody actually giving it to you. Being a police officer isn't exactly a "loved" profession. If you want to learn more about what he did, go do a ride along with your local police department or the police department he worked for. Go talk to some of his old co-workers, that would probably be the way to go.Where can I find public records about a police officer from Florida?
Go to the department and ask if you can see his personnel file. They might let you or maybe they won't. It depends on the circumstances.
