How can I find public records on someone?

I need to know where the father of my children is living presently and I want to be able to track him down for free. Is their a way to find him online without having to pay for it? I really just need his current address.How can I find public records on someone?
Genealogy is about researching dead ancestors. If and when he's dead you can find him on SSDI for free. It's unethical to give private information on living persons.

If it is concerning the children the Friend of the Court should be able to help you.If the children are under 18 and they are ordered to pay child support ,they have to keep their records updated .
Hi do you know what state he is living in ?? If you do then go to Melissa Data look for the link to people look up.. put in his name and state it will come up with all the same name people for that state now scroll down the list till you see the one your looking for .. on the right side of the list it will show a list of possible relatives and possible addresses for the person in question.. you can cross reference that with Zaba search and the white pages..
