I need to retrieve the court records of a previous conviction in Illinois that occured 10 years ago. How can I get them, are they available on the internet? Are court records considered part of the public record?
You usually have to go to the courthouse and pick them up or send a letter requesting your record with specific info (case number, name, dob, ssn) with a check of usually 5 bucks.
They are public records. They may or may not be on the net; contact the courthouse to find out how to access them on line ( if this is possible) or how to get copies. Are court records considered part of the public record?
Yes they are However in some family court situation the records are sealed to protect children. Are court records considered part of the public record?
