Can you buy a home without your name appearing on public records?

We're starting to look at houses and hope to move soon. We've had problems with some nutty and incredibly intrusive extended family. We'd like to try to limit our contact info to people we choose to give it to - not anyone who does a search of the county assessor's office. Any ideas? Thanks. Can you buy a home without your name appearing on public records?
Not in the US. They are public records, although many states require you to search at the county office and identify yourself.
When you buy a house, you get a deed (after you have paid the price to the sellers). Just put the deed in your pocket and keep it. That is not the normal way to do it. Usually you rush the deed to the County Recorder's Office. Once it is "recorded" it is notice to the world that you are the owner. But there is no law that says you must do this..Can you buy a home without your name appearing on public records?
take title to the home under a trust set up by your attorney. he can explain it. Some counties allow you to suppress your name for this reason, but you can't really count on it being available long term. this will work for as long as you want. Can you buy a home without your name appearing on public records?
What are they going to go to every county in the state and pull ever house in every county???

I don't think it's an issue and NO you can not hide your name.

Perhaps you should legally change your names?
yep, see it every day
