Is there a way to get your arrest off of public records?

Can you at least reduce the chance that someone can google your name and find info about you being arrested via police records or local newspaper police blotters? Is there a way to get your arrest off of public records?
You can talk to a lawyer about getting your record expunged.

Certain crimes may not be eligible, you may have to wait a period of time before it can be expunged.

As for Google, you're out of luck. If google has a cached version of a newspaper article about your arrest it will be available to anyone searching for as long as google keeps cache around. Is there a way to get your arrest off of public records?
Google yourself and edit what you find there. You cannot prevent an arrest from being public record but anyone interested would have to go to police records to find it.Is there a way to get your arrest off of public records?
It depends on the crime. Marijuana related misdemeanors/infractions go away but felonies are generally permanent even if you expunge it. Expunged felonies still stay on your record; it does not simply erase them. There are "wobbler" felonies that will allow you to reduce it to a misdemeanor in California. I believe minors also have a chance to erase their felony.

Arrest records, however, are VERY difficult to erase.
