It's PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES not city dog catcher so why shouldn't we, the voter that's basically hiring them for the job, be able to access public records? So then why should they have a choice as to what public records we should be privy to?



And did Obama ever release his school records?Don't you think anyone running for president shouldn't have the choice if they want to release public records?

Have you graduated from college? If not, I doubt you could understand his records.
the problem is that you fail to know what records are actually PUBLIC.

Neither his birth certificate or school records are public. They are both protected by law.

So.. what you are saying is that you should be able to violate someone's rights, if they are President?

A President (even one that you don't like) is absolutely entitled to the same rights as any other citizen. That is part of the Constitution that so many of you seem to think HE is violating.

It's the other way around.

there is a HUGE DIFFERENCE between "hiding something" and a person who stands up for his rights to choose what he will or won't release. If people didn't spend so much time, making demands that have no legal basis.. maybe they could read and find out what the laws really ARE.

the above article was written about Obama in 1990... the important part about that, is that it was written long before anyone knew of him being candidate for anything. It might give you some insight.

no Wendy what I am saying is the supreme court has said that it is up to the voters to insure the president meets the requirements of the office not up tot he courts... if that is true.. then i as a votor should be able to see the birth certificate of anyone that i hold doubts about.



otoh... you must also understand that one issue Obama has is that releasing his birth certificate woudl NOT resolve the lawsuits, although it would bring a sigh of relieve to the public, the people who have brought forth those lawsuits have stated publicly that they have every intention of challenging the president by every method available no matter what he does... Given that fact i am not sure i would release anything without a court order.
