How to find copies of public records????

I thought court cases were public record (free) but I cant seem to FIND anything. I need to find out about a child support case in another state? ANY advice would be appreciated.....How to find copies of public records????
Send a letter to the State Court Clerk with all of the particulars and your relation to the case and ask what the court fees will be and then send the fees to them under separate cover. They should respond to you either positively or negatively. How to find copies of public records????
Either go to the courthouse concerned or check their website for the procedure to follow to retrieve documents. It is free, but you may have to pay for copying/postage.How to find copies of public records????
Many court cases are NOT public records.

However, in every county in the USA there are

* County Court House %26amp; County Clerk Office

This is usually in city with almost same name as county, known as the county seat.

You go to that building and ASK.

There will be some records that are public access for people who can prove they are residents of the county ... sometimes they do not ask.

Sometimes this info is on the Internet

(very dangerous ... the county personnel may be ignorant about how to protect the people in the records from identity theft)
