How do you look up public records like lawsuits?

I'm trying to find information on an individual who was involved in a lawsuit for child support. I know that it is a public record. What is the best way to find that information? How do you look up public records like lawsuits?
Go to the court house in the city in which the lawsuit was filed. Go to the Court Recorder's Office and ask to see the record or ask where you can find it. It will expedite things if you have the names of parties involved and the approximate date of the lawsuit. You can probably get a copy of the record but it may or may not be a bit pricey. Some courts charge 50-cents/page and some charge more. I wish you success.
