Public Records?

How do I look up public records for free? If they're public records, shouldn't the public be able to look at them? Almost every site I go to redirects me to intelius. Does anyone know any sites that are really free? Thanks.Public Records?
BELOW IS A WEBSITE THAT CAN ASSIST YOU:

http://www.usa.gov/Citizen/Topics/Public鈥?/a>

USA.gov鈩?is the U.S. government's official Web portal

Public Record Directory: Links to public record searches on the internet

Public Record Search Forum: Directory of public record links and public record forum

Free Public Records Resources: Newly reformed and designed website offering public records resources and also articles related to public records, criminal history records and other articles related to utilizing different online resources for locating information.
The best way to look up public records for free is to go to the building in which they are housed, for example, a county courthouse.Public Records?
Try People Search.com, but there is a limit to how much free information they give you. Yes, the records are public but that does not mean they're free. Municipalities and cities generate income from charging a fee as well.Public Records?
Check the county courthouse for actual "free" public records. If you are looking online, expect to pay for them. In my opinion it's worth the reasonable fee. I found a site that compares some of the popular public records search sites online.
